A remarkable development in week 3 is the formation of the placenta. The blastocyst or the ball of cells will split into two parts, one of which will form the placenta that will become the fetus’ source of nutrients. Amniotic fluid also starts to accumulate around the cells to protect the baby throughout the course of the pregnancy.

  • Abdominal cramps

  • Light bleeding
